The Old Rectory is situated in the hamlet of Llanmartin, an ancient diocese of rural Monmouthshire.

Located close to Newport, we are very accessible being just 3 minutes off M4, either Junction 24 or 23. Mainline train links to London and to the North are just 10 minutes away in Newport City Centre.

Surrounding our envious location, are a wealth of lifestyle choices; Sport; Theatre & Arts; Beaches and Leisure. Just 3 minutes away is the world class Celtic Manor Resort, home to the Ryder Cup 2010, just perfect for the Golf enthusiast.

On our doorstep is the Usk Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty and perfect for Cycling, Hiking, Walking, Parasailing, HorseRiding, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Mountain Biking, Hot Air Ballooning, Quad Biking and Fishing. Some of the most abundant fish are found in our lakes and the Rivers Usk and Wye are famed for Salmon.

Wales is proud of its Castles and Monuments. Just nearby are many examples, notably Caerleon, a Roman Fortress and Ampitheatre together with a dedicated Museum. This historic Roman village situated on the banks of the River Usk is filled with narrow streets. Steeped in legend, the site of the court of the infamous King Arthur and home to ancient monuments and archaeological sites of national importance. Here you will find a warm Welsh welcome in one of the many pubs or stylish restuarants. Visit one, relax over a long lunch and watch life unfold around you. Or why not indulge in a perfect evening out and dine one some of the very best Welsh food till your hearts content.

Some 15 minutes away by rail is the City of Cardiff with frequent train connections. Here you will find superb shopping, the vibrant Cardiff Bay and the Millennium Stadium, host to many world class sport and music events.
